E-check property tax payment

Using our secure e-check saves postage and mailing hassles. It's a one-time payment of taxes directly from your checking or savings account.

This is a no cost, fully automated electronic payment system allowing you to pay taxes over the Internet. Please make sure that e-checks are allowed on the account you are paying from.

You enter your checking or saving account and payment information and we send it to our financial institution which then processes the payment through the banking system exactly like your paper check.

Coming later this year, e-check will move to our Paymentus portal, which will include payment options for current, prior, and future tax years.

  • Pay current property tax, delinquent (prior year) property tax, contracts or confession of judgments.
  • Your tax payment is considered paid the date you submit it online. Bank posting may take a day or two longer.
  • Only one payment per property ID number (PID) can be made per day.
  • All transactions are based on Central Standard Time (CST).
  • Payments can be viewed online within the next three business days.
  • Payment will appear on your bank statement like an ATM withdrawal or direct-pay payment.
  • You will need to enter your 13-digit property ID number (PID) which is found on your property tax statement, or use the Property information search tool.
  • Confirm with your financial institution that you are using an account which allows debits against it.
  • Hennepin County is not responsible for any fees you may incur for rejected, refused or returned payments by your financial institution. You may also be charged a fee from Hennepin County for any returned payment.
