ImmuLink supports the confidential, statewide Minnesota Immunization Information Connection (MIIC) program for the 7-county area. Those metro areas are Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott and Washington counties. Municipal health departments of Minneapolis, Bloomington, Edina and Richfield are also included.
MIIC helps make sure Minnesotans have complete immunization records. It also helps people get the right vaccine at the right time. At birth or at the first well-baby check-up, newborn immunization records are entered into the MIIC registry. To learn more, visit the Minnesota immunization registry online.
Immunization records and databases are confidential. To view the data, you must be covered under the Minnesota Immunization Data Sharing Law. Physicians, nurses, social workers, pharmacists and school nurses can view data. Child care facilities, boards of health, community action agencies, and the commissioner of health can also view the data. All organizations requesting access to MIIC must sign a security and confidentiality agreement.
