Standing with our residents: A commitment to community and compassion
At Hennepin County, we remain steadfast in our commitment to all residents, regardless of immigration status. In light of recent federal immigration enforcement and the separation of families, we reaffirm our dedication to supporting families, protecting children, and standing with our communities during times of uncertainty.
We recognize the fear and disruption these actions cause, and we are working closely with local partners to ensure that affected families have access to legal resources, emotional support, and essential services. Our goal is to foster a safe, inclusive environment where every resident feels valued and protected.
Resources that might be helpful to assist through this difficult time may be accessed by calling the Refugee and Immigrant Helpline at 1-800-814-4806. This resource from the Minnesota Department of Human Services provides connections to helpful information, resources and services in your community. Navigators on the Helpline provide support and guidance you can trust.
We will continue to advocate for humane policies and stand in solidarity with those impacted. Together, we can build a community rooted in dignity, justice, and care.
