Employee referral program
County employees are in the best position to know high level performers and refer qualified candidates. That is why we are expanding our Employee referral bonus program in 2023 to offer a $500 bonus for each referral that is hired into an open competitive position.
How it works
Beginning January 1, 2023:
- View current job postings at hennepin.jobs (positions must not be limited to internal employees)
- Share job announcements with your family, friends, and professional networks
- Within 2 weeks of the referred employee's start date, they must complete an employee referral bonus form in the new hire section of APEX (you do not submit any forms as the referring employee)
- Upon approval, you will receive an email confirming your employee referral bonus
- Allow up to 4 weeks for the employee referral bonus form to be reviewed and the payment to be processed
Conditions
- There is no limit to the number of employee referral bonuses you can receive
- You must be employed with Hennepin County on the date that the candidate begins work
- You must still be employed with Hennepin County to receive the payment
- Referred candidates cannot be current or previous employees of Hennepin County
- Only one Hennepin County employee can be named as the referral source
- All current Hennepin County employees are eligible to receive the bonus, except employees in Human Resources, Labor Relations, the Hennepin County Administrator, and Assistant County Administrators
- The bonus will be included with your regular paycheck and is subject to all mandatory deductions
