Adult-use cannabis

The Office of Cannabis Management has begun issuing licenses to businesses wishing to sell adult-use cannabis under Minnesota Statute Chapter 342.

Businesses that receive licenses also must register with the city or county. The following cities have delegated their authority for registration to Hennepin County:

  • Greenwood
  • Hanover
  • Loretto
  • Medicine Lake
  • Minnetonka Beach
  • Orono
  • Spring Park  

Licensing and registration process

For communities not listed above, contact the individual municipality for registration information and process.

  1. Apply for a license through the Office of Cannabis Management and complete the state background check.
  2. Once a license is granted, register with Hennepin County: Cannabis and lower-potency hemp edibles registration form (PDF).
