Housing and Redevelopment Authority

The Hennepin County Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) was established in 1987 to serve the housing, economic development, and redevelopment needs of the citizens of Hennepin County and its municipalities.

Meetings are held periodically after regular County Board Committee Meetings on Tuesdays. The agenda for each meeting is published as soon as possible prior to a meeting. Meetings will be hosted virtually until further notice. Details for specific meetings can be found our our board meetings webpage

HCHRA public hearing - Hennepin County Consortium Draft 2021 Action Plan

The Hennepin County Board of Commissioners is soliciting public comment on the Hennepin County Consortium Draft 2021 Action Plan, which will be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in May 2021. The Hennepin County Consortium includes all cities in suburban Hennepin County.

There will be opportunity for public comment at the public hearing on:

  • Tuesday, April 13
  • 1:30 pm

To give public comment during the meeting, call 855-946-2251. Once you begin speaking, you will have two minutes to make your comments. After that, your microphone will be muted.

The principal mission of the Hennepin County Housing and Redevelopment Authority is to serve the housing and economic development and redevelopment needs of the citizens of Hennepin County and its municipalities.

The HRA undertakes or assists housing projects that will provide decent, affordable housing, and undertakes or assists economic development or redevelopment projects with a goal of:

  • Creating jobs
  • Expanding the tax base
  • Eliminating blight, and
  • Providing or facilitating the provision or operation of public conveniences and improvements

All of this should be done in a manner which produces the lowest possible cost to such citizens.
