The Hennepin County Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) was established in 1987 to serve the housing, economic development, and redevelopment needs of the citizens of Hennepin County and its municipalities.

Meetings are held periodically after regular County Board Committee Meetings on Tuesdays. The agenda for each meeting is published as soon as possible prior to a meeting. Olson Redevelopment

The Hennepin County Board and the Hennepin County Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HCHRA) will hold a public hearing at the above-mentioned date and time.

The project proposed to be financed under the Housing Program consists of the acquisition, reconstruction, and equipping of an approximately 92-unit multifamily rental housing development and facilities functionally related and subordinate thereto, located at 1201 Olson Memorial Highway, Minneapolis within Hennepin County, for occupancy by persons and families of low and moderate income. The Project will be known as Olson Redevelopment and will be initially developed and operated by Community Housing Development Corporation, a Minnesota nonprofit corporation or an affiliate thereof, and owned by Olson Redevelopment I Limited Partnership, a Minnesota limited partnership, or its affiliates or assigns.

Mission

The principal mission of the Hennepin County Housing and Redevelopment Authority is to serve the housing and economic development and redevelopment needs of the citizens of Hennepin County and its municipalities.

The HRA undertakes or assists housing projects that will provide decent, affordable housing, and undertakes or assists economic development or redevelopment projects with a goal of:

  • Creating jobs
  • Expanding the tax base
  • Eliminating blight, and
  • Providing or facilitating the provision or operation of public conveniences and improvements

All of this should be done in a manner which produces the lowest possible cost to such citizens.
