Traffic impacts

Major construction is complete, and France Avenue is open to traffic. Be alert for occasional, short-term lane restrictions as crews complete final tasks.

About the project

Project background

We replaced the aging France Avenue bridge over Nine Mile Creek and added improvements for better safety and drainage. This summer we:

Removed the current box culvert bridge and installed a new one
Added two overflow culverts—one on the north and on the south—to better manage high water events and minimize water over the road
Paved the new bridge and approximately 200 feet on each direction
Installed new guardrails for improved safety
