Project information

Cedar Avenue serves as a main connector for the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood, the University of Minnesota west bank campus, Augsburg University and traffic accessing I-35W and I-94.

Work for this project includes:

  • Reconstructing curb ramps to be more accessible and easier to use, compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
  • Changing the striping from South 6th Street to 20th Avenue South, including under the I-94 bridge, to add a center left turn lane, one travel lane in each direction and a parking lane or shoulder space. This change will improve safety and mobility for road users while keeping existing parking.

Projects like this typically begin with intersection work, then pavement work and finish with restriping.
