One-Day DWI Program

The One-Day DWI Program is an alternative sanction for clients convicted of a first-time DWI. The program is only for clients with DWI cases in Hennepin County.

The program provides a prompt and consistent response to prevent repeat offenses. Participants attend programming that combines:

  • Alcohol education
  • Cognitive therapy
  • Self-assessment
  • Victim impact panel

Payments, registration and certificates

If you have been ordered to complete the One-Day DWI program, please follow the steps below to register and pay for the class.

Step one: Pay fee

Class fee

The One-Day DWI class fee is $135. Once the class fee is paid, you will receive a proof of payment code to give to your class provider.

Pay by credit or debit card

  • To make a payment, call the Fee Line at 612-348-5179, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Have your case number available before calling

Pay by check or money order

Payments can be mailed to:

Hennepin County Treasurer
P.O. Box 15171
Minneapolis, MN 55415

  • Payments should be made payable to 'Hennepin County Treasurer'
  • Include your case number with your payment

Step two: Register for the class

You can register by phone for a class offered by our providers. All classes take place on Saturdays. You may want to call all providers to find a class date that works best for you.

  • Include your name and case number
