Excelsior Boulevard reconstruction

County Road 3 in Minnetonka

The City of Minnetonka, in partnership with Hennepin County, plans to reconstruct two miles of Excelsior Boulevard (County Road 3) between County Road 101 and Williston Road. Improvements that area under consideration include:

• Upgrading traffic signals and possibly adding roundabouts at key intersections.
• Adding new multi-use trails on both sides of the road
• Constructing retaining walls for trail and stormwater drainage improvements
• Updating city utilities, including water main, storm sewer and sanitary sewer
• Burying overhead power lines

Construction is anticipated to begin in 2027.
