Proposal focus
We are looking for proposals in three program areas to serve individuals and families in Hennepin County who are most harmed by community or gun violence. The work will fall under three categories, aligned with the pillars of Hennepin County Safe Communities:
- Creating protective environments
- Connecting young people to caring adults and activities
- Promoting healthy families
All proposals should align with Hennepin County’s vision for equitable opportunity, shared accountability, and sustained community well-being. Applicants should demonstrate how their vision for the work will lead to a safer and healthier Hennepin County.
Most awards will be around $200,000. Standard practice will include awarding contracts under cost-reimbursement terms.
Priority will go to:
- Populations and areas disproportionately affected by community and gun violence, including racially and ethnically diverse communities, with particular emphasis on youth and young adults ages 10 to 24
- Organizations with a record of collaboration and current ties to other active community organizations and existing county programs and departments
