Drop-off facilities open with limited operations

Hennepin County’s Drop-Off Facilities in Brooklyn Park and Bloomington are open with limited operations and new safety procedures due to COVID-19. Find more information about drop-off facilities.

Changes to materials accepted: No mattresses. No TVs or electronics that weigh more than 50 lbs.

Select appliances accepted: microwaves, water coolers, sump pumps, garbage disposals, dehumidifiers. $15/each. 

NO other appliances accepted.

Give away, donate or sell

If your lamp or light fixture is in good, working condition, give it away, sell it or donate to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore, Arc’s Value Village or Bridging (floor and table lamps only).


If your lamp or light fixture is broken, take it to a repair shop or Fix-It Clinic.

Other disposal options


The metal parts of light fixtures may be accepted by a scrap metal recycler for redemption.

Materials preparation

Remove all non-metal parts and ballasts first. Non-metal parts may be put in the garbage. See disposal options and guidelines for ballasts.
