Drop-off facilities open with limited operations

Hennepin County’s Drop-Off Facilities in Brooklyn Park and Bloomington are open with limited operations and new safety procedures due to COVID-19. Find more information about drop-off facilities.

Changes to materials accepted: No mattresses. No TVs or electronics that weigh more than 50 lbs.

Select appliances accepted: microwaves, water coolers, sump pumps, garbage disposals, dehumidifiers. $15/each. 

NO other appliances accepted.

Mineral-oil filled heaters in good condition may be given away or sold.

Recycle

Mineral-oil filled portable heaters may be accepted and redeemed at scrap metal recycler. Drain oil first.

Remove all fluids and non-metal parts first. The fluid and scrap metal may then be recycled.

Put in the garbage

Mineral-oil filled heaters may be placed in the garbage. Check with your curbside waste hauler for guidelines or take to a landfill transfer station.
