Recommended disposal options

Yard sign recycling drop off: June 16-28, 2025

Check with the school or organization to see if they are collecting for reuse. If your yard sign can’t be reused, drop it off for recycling at four locations June 16-28, 2025.

The signs will be brought to Choice Plastics, where they will be turned into pellets and then recycled into new material.

Bloomington

South Hennepin Recycling and Problem Waste Drop-Off Center

Open Tuesday to Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Proof of residency, such as a driver’s license or utility bill, is required.

Brooklyn Park

Hennepin County Recycling Center and Transfer Station

Open Tuesday to Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Proof of residency, such as a driver’s license or utility bill, is required.

Minneapolis

Minneapolis North Transfer Station

Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
Collection container will be outside of the gate

Minnetonka/Hopkins

Minnetonka/Hopkins Recycling Center

Drop off guidelines

Accepted:
Corrugated plastic
(coroplast) signs

Not accepted:

Paper, mailers, posters
Banners
Wooden stakes

Preparation:
Make sure signs are clean and dry
Remove any stakes or posts
Metal stakes can be recycled separately at various scrap metal recyclers
