Golden Valley Road Bridge is open to traffic
The Golden Valley Road Bridge (County Road 66) over Bassett Creek is now open to traffic.
The bridge was reconstructed with design and functional improvements, including:
- New road surface offering a smoother ride
- Updates to meet current safety requirements
- Improved road drainage
- Modern design, including new ornamental railings along both sides of the bridge
- Adaptable design to accommodate possible future upgrades for people walking and biking
Golden Valley Road Bridge is open to traffic. Striping and cleanup work remains. Private utility companies are working on Golden Valley Road near the completed bridge.
Be alert for work in the area
The bridge is fully operational. However, there are a few minor construction tasks on the bridge will continue for a few weeks, like pavement striping and final cleanup.
During this time, there will be some minor impacts to people driving, walking and biking. Crews will work to keep disruptions to a minimum, whenever possible.
CenturyLink and CenterPoint Energy work continues
CenturyLink and CenterPoint Energy crews are working on Golden Valley Road near the completed bridge. Please anticipate impacts in areas where active construction is occurring and are necessary.
For more information about CenterPoint Energy's work, please visit CenterPoint Energy's Golden Valley 2018 Belt Line Project or call 612-321-5546.
Permanent striping to begin after CenterPoint Energy project is completed
Once the CenterPoint Energy project is completed, crews will return to place permanent striping on Golden Valley Road in the project area.
Road striping will be completed under traffic, which means crews will be working alongside traffic. During this work, you will be able to travel through the corridor.
However, it is important to stay alert in this area, as construction crews and equipment on the roadway will require your extra attention.
We thank you for your patience and understanding as we worked to reconstruct the Golden Valley Road Bridge.
