Brooklyn Park Transfer Station tour request form
Hennepin County offers facility tours at the Brooklyn Park Transfer Station (BPTS) waste drop-off facility. Refer to the following safety guidelines to determine what may be available for your group.
Schedule your tour at least four weeks prior to the requested date, providing three potential dates for your tour. Fill out the form below to schedule a tour for your group, or call 612-348-4930 for assistance or special accommodations.
What: BPTS provides an opportunity for residents to properly manage household hazardous waste, recyclables, organics, and problem materials such as computers, televisions and appliances. This tour highlights the importance of reducing, reusing, recycling and preventing pollution.
Who: Grade 2 through adults (no one under age 7). Group size: 5-28. (A presentation is available for large groups at their school or location.)
Chaperones: Grades 2-8, one adult required per 5 youth; Grades 9-12, one adult per 10 youth. Chaperones shall strictly monitor the safety and behavior of students groups.
When: Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, start times 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tours typically last 1 to 1.5 hours. No weekends, holidays. No Mondays or Tuesdays. Partial facility tours may be scheduled Wednesday evenings upon request.
Safety: Permission slip addendums or liability waiver forms must be signed by every person take a tour and presented at time of the tour.
No open-toed shoes, no high heels, no flip flops. Proper dress and punctuality is required or participants will be left behind.
Notice: Visitors should be prepared for loud noises, smells and dust, and for walking up stairs and outdoors.
