COVID-19 response

You can access county services by phone, online, e-mail, mail, drop off, or fax.

Visiting county buildings

  • Visitors to most county buildings are not required to wear a mask.
  • Visitors may still be required to wear a mask in certain county buildings, including correctional, detention, and health-care settings. Follow instructions from signage and building staff.
  • Masks are recommended for those who are unvaccinated or at high-risk for COVID-19.
  • Visitors who have tested positive for COVID-19 or who are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should not enter county buildings when possible. If these visitors must enter, they should wear a mask.

COVID-19 vaccination events and registration

Update

Hennepin County has wrapped up its community COVID-19 vaccination clinics.

Other COVID-19 vaccine provider options include:

  • your primary care provider
  • a provider on the Minnesota vaccine locator website  
  • Hennepin County Public Health Clinic (information below)

Bivalent boosters

People aged 6 months and older are now recommended to get a COVID-19 bivalent booster dose at least 2 months after their last COVID-19 primary series or booster.

Use this flowchart to determine when children 6 months to five years should receive their COVID-19 vaccines and bivalent boosters.

  • Moderna vaccines: 6 months to 5 years
  • Moderna vaccines: 12 years and up
  • Pfizer vaccines: 6 months and up
  • Bivalent Moderna booster: 6 months to 5 years
  • Bivalent Moderna booster: 6 years and up
  • Bivalent Pfizer booster: 6 months to 4 years
  • Bivalent Pfizer booster: 5 years and up

Plan your visit

  • Monday to Wednesday: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Thursday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Friday: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Accepting

  • Minnesotans ages 6 months to 11 years; parental consent needed for ages 6 months to 11 years
  • Minnesotans ages 12+
  • Minnesotans ages 18+

Walk-ins are available during regular clinic hours until 3:30 p.m. There may be a wait, depending on walk-in demand.

To date, we have offered vaccine appointments to people who reside inside and outside of Hennepin County. We have prioritized people who live in high social vulnerability index zip codes and communities who are disproportionality impacted by COVID-19.
