Weekly opportunities

Examples:

  • Minneapolis Animal Care and Control: walk dogs and cuddle cats
  • Reading Buddies: helping youth in our community with reading skills
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities mentoring youth: someone little needs someone big

Monthly opportunities

Examples:

  • Cooking for Kids at the Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery
  • Serving residents at People Serving People
  • Cooking at the Fisher House

Speed volunteering

Make a difference in 30 minutes. Use it for staff meetings, employee engagement or team building. You can do speed volunteering at different locations around the county. 

Examples:

  • Assemble breakfast to go bags
  • Tie fleece blankets 
  • Make sandwiches for people who are homeless 
  • Assemble laundry kits
  • Make cards of encouragement, congratulations or thank you notes
  • Decorate grocery bags for a local food shelf
