See how we will improve County Road 92 at Highway 12
Hennepin County, in partnership with Minnesota Department of Transportation and City of Independence, is improving safety on County Road 92 where it intersects with Highway 12 in Independence.
This project is part of Minnesota Department of Transportation’s Highway 12 corridor safety improvement projects aimed at improving safety and reducing crashes along Highway 12 in Orono, Maple Plain and Independence.
Since selecting the project's preferred alternative in January, we made design refinements and updates. We are at the point now where we have an updated design to share and can begin the transition toward final design.
We have created an online resource that you can visit at any time. When you access the site, you will see the latest designs, renderings and models of how traffic will move safer and better.
Learn more about:
- A new multi-lane roundabout that reduces the two intersections down to one
- A realigned County Road 92 and bridge over Highway 12 and BNSF Railroad
- A new County Road 92 curve and intersection at Lake Sarah Road
- You will also learn about next steps as we move toward final design and construction.
