Project overview

This project is comprised of two different types of projects: reconstruction and repaving. The

Reconstruction project

Improvements are needed to this small section of County Road 24 to improve traffic flow, safety and route continuity. Major improvements to the reconstructed area will include:

  • Adding a traffic lane in each direction and a continuous center left turn lane to create consistent lane configurations between County Road 101 and Highway 55
  • Adding a trail along the south side for a continuous shared-use route along the corridor
  • Improving sight-lines and visibility
  • Replacing aging watermain pipes beneath the road

Construction is expected to begin in late spring 2017 and be complete by the end of the construction season.

Paving project

In addition to the reconstruction project outlined above, current plans also call for repaving of County Road 24 between Jewel Lane North on the west and Highway 55 on the east during late summer next year. This work will be relatively brief and will likely not require major additional closures or detours.
