NorthPoint - Increased Demand for Services

Description

Due to the current economic situation, NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center anticipates large increases in the number of uninsured individuals seeking health care services. In 2008, NorthPoint provided services to 21,129 unique patients, including 6,360 uninsured individuals. In 2009, NorthPoint is projecting 7,437 uninsured individuals (an increase of 17% uninsured over 2008). The ARRA of 2009 includes funds for increased services at existing sites and for spikes in demand to serve uninsured populations. Funding is for a two-year period.
