NorthPoint Health and Wellness Center, 1313 Penn Avenue North, seeks a board-certified/eligible Family Physician to provide a full spectrum of ambulatory family medicine in a community clinic setting. Our practice is a diverse, urban, community health center in North Minneapolis whose mission is: "Actively partnering to create a healthier community."

Hours for this position range from 32-40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with some on-call, evening and Saturday clinic hours. Candidates who are fluent in English and Spanish, or English and Hmong, are encouraged to apply.

This position is within the unclassified service in the Hennepin County Job Classification System as an Associate Physician and is not subject to the Human Resources Laws and Rules.

Primary duties and responsibilities include:
  • Evaluate, diagnose and treat acute and chronic illness and disease.
  • Provide preventative services for patients of all ages.
  • Provide prenatal care services (non-hospital).
  • Participate in NorthPoint's quality management program.
  • Utilize electronic health records.
  • Partner with patients to optimize health and wellness.
  • The Ideal Candidate must have:
  • Graduated from an accredited school of medicine with an M.D. or D.O. degree, and completed an approved internship and formal residency.
  • Valid license to practice medicine issued by the State of Minnesota.
  • Board certification (or eligibility for board certification) as a family physician, with certification completed within six months of hire.
  • Experience as a physician in a community health clinic or family practice environment.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English, or Hmong and English, or experience communicating with patients through interpreters, is highly desirable.
  • Ability to respect, appreciate and promote teamwork among diverse co-workers and patients.
  • Ability to demonstrate the employee competencies.
