Make an appointment to apply for a new or renewal snowmobile registration at any Hennepin County Service Center.

In Minnesota only a current registration on your snowmobile is required. There is no certificate of title needed.  Snowmobile registration is valid for three years and runs from July 1 to June 30.  

How to apply

Apply in person at any Hennepin County service center location. For a shorter wait time, make an appointment. Registration decal will be issued at the time you apply.

  • Complete the Universal Registration Form (PDF 805.14kb) including: registration number, make, model, year, serial number, and engine size in HP or cubic centimeters (cc's).
  • Have the sales receipt showing you have paid the sales tax with you.
  • The owner's driver's license/state ID is required identification.

Fee

  • $78.50 new or renewal registration
  • $88.50 renewal registration and transfer
  • $13.50 transfer only
