The preventive health needs of children and teens under the age of 21, who receive Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare, are assured through the Child & Teen Checkups Program. 

All children receiving Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare are offered periodic health and dental screenings, and follow-up through their healthcare provider. Child & Teen Checkups staff educate families about comprehensive screening at regular age intervals and assist with appointments, transportation and other services necessary to access healthcare. The program also provides community outreach, technical assistance and training to medical providers.
