This unit provides case management services and supervision to persons who have been civilly committed as Mentally Ill and Dangerous, Sexual Psychopathic Personality, or Sexually Dangerous Person.  These individuals have severe and persistent mental illness disorders.  Many have been found not guilty due to mental illness.  Some are sex offenders, most of whom have completed prison sentences but remain in need of sex offender treatment.

Forensic case managers assess clients’ readiness for release from regional treatment centers, prepare release plans, and testify at legal hearings. While supervising community-based clients, forensic case managers monitor clients’ compliance with release plans, coordinate services with family members and collaterals, and provide monitoring reports to administrative and legal authorities.
