1. What if I do not know how to spell a name?

The database allows searches on just the individual's first name, just the last name, or a combination of the first and last name. Partial name searches are also permitted simply by typing the first few letters of a name. For example, entering the letters 'Jo' in the last name field results in a list of all ACF residents with the last name 'Johnsen,' 'Johnson,' 'Jones,' etc.

The Adult Corrections Facility is a medium security correctional facility that provides housing and programming for convicted offenders who are sentenced for up to one year in jail. The ACF is a division of the Department of Community Corrections and Rehabilitation.

The jail in downtown Minneapolis is managed by the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office and houses men and women who have been charged with a crime, but not adjudicated.

4. Why would a person's projected release date change?

An individual's release date may change for a variety of reasons. The most common is for losing 'good time' as a result of a disciplinary issue. Good time is credited to an individual's sentence when he or she is booked into the ACF. It is a reduction of one-third of the total number of days that the person is ordered to serve. State law permits the loss of good time as part of a disciplinary sanction for  individuals who violate institutional rules while under the jurisdiction of the ADF.

6. What does the term "Release Date" mean on the resident roster?

On the search results page, the term 'Release Date' has two separate meanings. First, viewers must refer to the resident's status to determine his or her custody status. If the resident's status shows temporary release for any reason (i.e. electronic home monitoring, work, or school), then the release date indicates that the resident is temporarily away from the facility and is scheduled to return at a pre-determined time.

If the resident's status is out of custody, the release date indicates the day that the individual satisfied his or her court-ordered sentence and was permanently released from ACF custody.
