Get flood relief at Brooklyn Park FEMA office
A temporary disaster recovery center to help residents affected by September flooding will open soon in Brooklyn Park. The center, operated by the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA), will open on Thursday, December 15, at 8600 Zane Avenue North.
Residents whose homes were damaged as a result of the floods and have home repair expenses that they are not able to meet will find financial help and other services at the center.
Residents may also apply for aid by calling 1-800-621-3362 or visiting www.disasterassistance.gov.
The last day to apply for assistance is January 30, 2017.
Residents applying in person for aid should bring:
- Social Security number
- Address of damaged home or apartment
- Description of damage, including pictures, if possible
- Insurance coverage information
- Telephone number
- Mailing address
- Bank account and routing numbers for direct deposit of funds.
The Recovery Center in Brooklyn Park will close 6 PM Wednesday Jan 11, 2017. Residents of Hennepin County can continue to register for assistance through January 30, 2017 by either going to one of the locations below (Waseca or Albert Lee), online, or by the FEMA helpline at 800-621-3362.
